Portugal Friends started with coffee mornings and has expanded to other monthly gatherings and events. Several monthly gatherings coffee mornings which are are an opportunity for foreigners of all nationalities get out and meet and chat with others, share stories, information, books and friendships.
The gatherings are free to attend and all you need do is pay for your coffee or other refreshments. Do bring along your books to swap, currently we have a number of English books, we only ask for a donation to the 'Bombeiros' Piggy Bank for your book swap. Please note books are only available for swapping as there is no endless supply and any donations are gratfully received. If you have your own business then do bring along your business cards or a sample of your products to share with others, please use this link to read the details around this.
Many people are sceptical about coming along to any event tailored to foreigners but we foster a friendly environment where people can share experiences, offer information and just relax and speak a language that you may be more at home with until you learn more Portuguese. But don't take our word for it, why don't you just come along and see if it suits you, there is nothing to lose, no obligation to come back and who knows you could just enjoy it like so many others have.
